Online news portals and content providers will be registered

The Government was of the view that there should be some kind of regulations on over the Top platforms. And on these lines the ministry of I&B has issued a notification on November 9, 2020 that online news portal and content providers will be under the Ministry. According to sources, the Government has taken such step after the SC's notice. Presently there is no law or autonomous bodyvening digital content.
