Only 13 officers of ST & 16 officers of SC working as JS & Secretary

Four percent officers of Scheduled Tribe and five percent officers belonging to Schedule Caste are working as Joint Secretary and Secretary level with the Government of India. In a written reply, the concerned Minister informed the Rajya Sabha that only 16 officers of SC while 13 of ST and 39 of OBC category officers are working as Joint Secretary and Secretary level in the Government. In the 75 Ministries and Departments, the ratio of Group ‘A’ officers are: 13.21% of SC, 6.01% of ST and 18.07% of OBC.
