Only MCD collects toll manually

In India, New Delhi Municipal Corporation is the only local body that collects toll on the roads manually. This leads to long jams at Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Bahadurgarh borders. This practice has been going on for the last several years and no UT government is interested in going high-tech. Recently Union Minister Nitin Gadkari raised this issue before the BJP-led Delhi government and asked it to adopt some alternative arrangement to get rid of long traffic jams. Now NHAI has approached the HC to get rid of this road nuisance at borders.
