Only Rs 5 lakh for research in BPR&D

Only Rs 5 lakh for good research and too could be awarded to L-1. For any research BPR&D has to give tender notice and award bid to L-1 bidder. It is said that because of such a cumbersome process and meager amount scholars are not taking any interest in research for Police. According to sources minimum amount for research in IIMs and IITs is said to be Rs 55 lakhs. Experts says that in such a meager amount how police can expect modern research? Will MHA give a second thought about to increase the research fee for BPR&D ?
