Only top-performers to get key posts in Railways ?

Indian Railways is planning to amend its selection procedure to shun the practice of appointing senior officials to key posts. The new procedure will facilitate the appointment of top-performing officials as Divisional Railway Managers, General Managers and Board Members, senior railway sources said. Under the amended procedure, there is a proposal to set up a selection panel. The proposal has been sent to the Group of Secretaries, who would forward it to the Group of Ministers with necessary recommendations.
