Over 2300 villages to be brought under mobile network

In an ambitious plan, over 2300 villages will be brought into the mobile network under the Comprehensive Telecom Development Plan (CTDP) for the North Eastern Region (NER). Presently 2374 villages are not under the mobile network. Among these 1683 villages are in Arunachal Pradesh while 691 villages are in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao of Assam.  The project would be funded by Universal Service Obligation Fund and is targeted to be complete by December, 2022.
