The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) cleared contract negotiations for the P-75(I) submarine project, aimed at acquiring six advanced stealth submarines with Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) systems. Negotiations are expected to conclude by February 2026, with a follow-on order for three additional submarines planned for 2028. This deal strengthens India’s naval strategy in the Indo-Pacific.
