P K Tripathy to remain in GoI

Initially name of J&K cadre 1987 batch IAS officer was considered for the post of Chief Secretary of J& K but finally A K Mehta was selected for the post. The reason is said to be he is reportedly tipped for the important job in the GoI. He is likely to succeed Deepak Khandekar on September 1 as Secretary Department of Personnel.
