Parliamentary Committee asks NHAI to take bold steps in filling huge vacancies

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport has recommended National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to take bold steps in filling up its huge vacancies at all level in all cadre specially in finance and legal with requisite education and experiences candidates as it is costing to the organization with lots of project litigations, Arbitral claim and delay in project implementation resulting in huge exchequer loss amounting to thousands of crore. The committee further suggested, NHAI needs to understand the fund involved with the authority requires a deterrent accountable cadre of its own like railways, the same has been advocated many times by the Minister RTH & past Chairman NHAI but reluctant lobbies of Deputation officials with the Admin/HR division have created further mess in this regard.
