Phatak is running knowledge lighthouse for Local Self- Government

One should not think of retirement. Former Mumbai Municipal Commissioner J R Phatak has proved this by running All India Institute of Local Self –Government-the knowledge lighthouse for local governance in about 40 places across the country. This is to empower local bodies to deliver to each citizen his rights to health, education, safety, participation and development through excellent governance and service delivery. Phatak a former 1978 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre is Director General of All India Institute of Local Self-Government.
