PLSS Chaitanya Prakash Assumes Charge as Director Power, NLCIL UPDATED
PLSS Chaitanya Prakash assumed charge as Director (Power), NLC India Limited (NLCIL), at the Company’s Registered Office in Chennai. Chaitanya Prakash is a seasoned power-sector professional with over three decades of experience in Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). During his tenure with DVC, he held senior responsibilities across projects, power generation, operations and maintenance, gaining extensive experience in thermal power plants, project execution, plant performance and power-sector infrastructure.
Prior to joining NLCIL, he served as Executive Director (Operations) at DVC, overseeing strategic operations and advancing capital projects. He also held board-level responsibilities in Green Valley Renewable Energy Limited (GVREL), a joint venture of DVC and NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), and DVC-CIL Power Private Limited (DCPPL), a joint venture of DVC and Coal India Limited.
His areas of expertise include thermal power plant operations and engineering, boiler performance and efficiency optimisation, environmental compliance systems such as Flue Gas Desulfurization and fly ash management, project governance and EPC delivery of large-scale power infrastructure, and the integration of emerging clean-energy technologies, including floating solar photovoltaics, pumped storage projects (PSP) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
His appointment is expected to further strengthen the Company’s power generation operations, project execution and its transition towards a cleaner energy portfolio. NLC India Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Union Ministry of Coal, is engaged in lignite mining and power generation, and is expanding its presence in renewable energy.
