PM Modi's wish of promoting business synergy among the PSE, Hindustan Copper ltd. adopts first

It was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wish of promoting business synergy among the Public Sector Enterprises and Hindustan Copper Ltd. became the first to adopt it.

Significantly, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) and Manganese Ore (India) Limited (MOIL), on April 22, 2018 at Malanjkhand Copper Project with an objective to create long term business synergy for both the CPSEs. The MoU was inked by Santosh Sharma, CMD, HCL, and  Mukund Chaudhary, CMD, MOIL.

In terms of the memorandum, MOIL will procure its entire requirement of Silica Sand, used for backfilling of its mines, from HCL’s Unit located at Malanjkhand, District Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

High grade Silica Sand is an outcome of the beneficiation of Copper Ore tails, a waste generated during Copper beneficiation process at Malanjkhand Copper Project.

A Copper Ore Tailing (COT) beneficiation plant is going to be commissioned at Malanjkhand by HCL which is expected to generate high grade Silica Sand to the tune of 5500 Tons/day. This sand will be suitable for road making, construction of building, etc. and is also likely to be used in glass industries after further refining.

This project is in sync with promoting business synergy among the Public Sector Enterprises as advised by the  Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the CPSEs in New Delhi on April 9, 2018.

 The 376th Board Meeting of Hindustan Copper Limited was held the day before, i.e. on April 21, 2018, at the village Gudma, District Balaghat, MP, in the outer fringes of Kanha National Park, in consonance with the Prime Minister's advice to boost the local economy of far-flung areas of the country.
