PMO’s ‘faceless’ insiders who make it all work !

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today is nothing less than India’s premier institution where the best get to work with the ever energetic Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A brief sample of some of the key non-IAS officers who work closely with the Prime Minister would be apt to know something about what makes these officers working in the PMO so very special for the Prime Minister as well as the Government.

Consider the case of Dr Hiren Joshi, the OSD who handles Research and Communications Technology in the PMO with the task of providing secretarial assistance to Prime Minister with regard to matters including but not restricted to Information Technology is an  Electronics Engineer by qualification from Pune with a doctorate from the Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior. He was personally chosen by the Prime Minister to handle his massive  digital presence work in 2008 when in Gujarat. Since then , Joshi had been an important member of the PMO team handling the back-end needs of ensuring effective digital interface of all of the PMO's work assigned to him.

The other key person in the Prime Minister’s team is Pratik Doshi, OSD, Research and Strategy in the PMO with the task of providing secretarial assistance to Prime Minister with regard to matters including but not restricted to Research and Strategy who is a graduate from the Singapore Management School who actually joined the Narendra Modi Government in Gujarat . Seeing his talent, the officials in the Gujarat Chief Minister’s office made him as a Research Assistant in the CMO. Since then, there had been no looking back for Doshi as he was asked to relocate to Delhi when Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. Doshi has been given the designation of Officer on Special Duty(OSD) in the PMO.  He has also helped the Prime Minister chose management talent for his Government.

Another key associated of the Prime Minister is Sanjay R Bhavsar , OSD, Appointment and Tour in the PMO who was recruited for Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister and was asked to relocate to Delhi when Modi became Prime Minister . He is the person the Prime Minister deploys when he has a public meeting or a media interaction to handle whenever required.

Ashutosh Narayan Singh, OSD Media Research in the PMO is from the Media and had been involved in the PMO to do all kinds of Media Research for PM’s campaigns whenever it is required.

Ravi Ramkrishna  has also now  joined  as ADG  PMO Unit  in the PIB. He is an IIS officer.

Sharat Chander OSD  (Information) handles the media relations for the Prime Minister's Office, and Cabinet Secretariat.Prior to this he was Director, PIB between August 2012 to July 2014.
