J&K Election Commission preparing for Civic body polls before VS elections

The Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has started the preparation of civic body polls, local body election and finally, the Vidhan Sabha polls. In a communication to all district officials, it has released the schedule to update the electoral rolls. The voter lists has been published on August 1 and objections have been invited between August 1 to 11. Special camps will be held for the disposal of objections. After the disposal, final voter list would be released on August 25. The Union Territory has two Corporations and 74 other urban bodies. Last time, the election to the civic bodies was held in 2018 and the tenure is going to an end in November this year.
