First ‘Ram Mandir’ then General Elections

Amid rumours of advance polls, sources said that the ruling dispensation will go for general elections after the Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya, which is scheduled in  January next year.

Mizoram Election Commission is fully prepared for Assembly election

The Mizoram Election Commission is fully geared-up for the Assembly election to be held in the state later this year. The Commission has prepared all the data and accordingly, the state has 615 electorate above 100 years in age; 9,190 electorate are above 80 years. The number of first time voters is 40,934. The state has 1276 polling stations. 40 polling stations are exclusively managed by the young teams. The number of women managed Polling Stations is 95 while PWDs are managing 11 Polling Stations. Special arrangements have been made for the convenience of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and elderly citizens. According to the Commission, 22 are non-motorable Polling Stations but the teams are prepared to reach there. There are 19 riverine polling stations, accessible only from boats in the rainy season and 6 are in all-season category, accessible by boats only throughout the year.
