23 Manipur BJP MLAs oppose 10 Kuki MLAs demand

The political landscape of Manipur is badly divided in Meitei and Kuki communities. 23 MLAs of BJP Government in Manipur have signed a resolution to protect territorial  integrity of the state. Recently, 10 MLAs of Kuki community had demanded for a separate administration in the state. The resolution said, the demand is not acceptable to them. The MLAs also resolved that they would soon proceed to Delhi to persuade  the central leadership to find a solution to the prevailing violent situation at the earliest. However, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh was not among the signatories.  

Nagaland Assembly passes resolution against the proposed UCC

Nagaland Assembly has passed resolutions against implementation of proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act in the state. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio informed the House that the state cabinet has already submitted a representation to the 22nd Law Commission to exempt the state from UCC. He also said that the cabinet held meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and he assured to look into it. Nagaland BJP president and cabinet minister Temjen Along assured to support and stand together.
