‘United opposition’ looks for answers now

The partners in INDIA alliance look firm to contest 2024 Parliamentary polls in coordination  but recent statements from the regional satraps is causing fissures. After Punjab, the Haryana Congress leaders look adamant to contest all the 10 Parliamentary seats in the state. The state’s former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda asserted that the Congress is capable of winning on its own and will fight all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state. AAP also looks committed to spreading its wings in Haryana and devising a strategy to fight all the segments. Also, after the severe poll debacle in the assembly by-election to two segments in Tripura, the CPM is finding it hard to convince its ally Congress. Here, the call for opposition unity fell flat as CPM lost both the seats with huge margins. The Congress extended its support to the CPM candidates but appears to be sulking after both the candidates bit the dust.

The Pakistan government tightened the noose around ex - president Imran Khan in corruption charges, sent him to jail and disqualified him to fight elections for five years. Same story is being played in USA. One should not be surprised if Trump is sent to jail and debar him to fight the Presidential elections in 2024. Trump is facing about one dozen court cases related to corruption, treason, sexual assault.
