Efforts to improve electoral participation in Manipur

The hilly north-east state Manipur was up in the flames earlier but the Chief Electoral Officer, Pradeep Kumar Jha is making all efforts to improve electoral participation. He inaugurated a signature campaign recently. The campaign is encouraging all eligible voters, particularly the youth, to cast their votes freely and without any external influence on Poll Day. The commission is promoting ethical, informed, inclusive, and accessible voting. Large hoardings and posters providing information on empowering voters have been installed at strategic locations throughout the state. The polling in Manipur will be held on April 19 and 26.
