Phalodi satta bazar revises downwards estimates for BJP,  sounds warning bell

Polling has concluded for over 70 per cent of the total Lok Sabha seats. The projections have also changed with each phase. Prior to the fourth phase of elections, the Phalodi Satta Bazar had pegged the BJP winning 307 to 310 seats. Now, the estimates have been revised downwards to 296-300 seats for the BJP, and 329 to 332 seats for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The first four phases of elections have seen polls conclude in 379 of the 543 seats. The party’s tally in 2019 was 303 seats. But despite revision, the opposition bloc does not appear to be making significant advances with the Satta Bazar estimating 58 to 62 seats for the Congress. The remaining 164 seats will go to polls in the next three phases.

What Phalodi Satta Bazar tells about BJP’s estimated tally in different states

As per the predictions, the BJP is likely to sweep Gujarat winning all the 26 seats. Of the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is expected to win 27-28 seats. The Phalodi Satta Bazar predicted 18-20 seats out of 25 seats in Rajasthan. Of the 21 seats in Odisha, the BJP is projected to win 11-12 seats. In Punjab, Satta Bazar predicted 2-3 seats for the BJP. In neighbouring Haryana, the party is likely to suffer a dent with projections suggesting 5-6 seats for the party. The market also predicts 5-6 seats for the BJP in Telangana. The party is likely to make a clean sweep in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Of the 11 seats in Chhattisgarh, the party is projected to win 10-11 seats. In Jharkhand (14 seats), the BJP is projected to win 10-11 seats. The party is also projected to win 6-7 seats in Delhi. As per the predictions, in Tamil Nadu, the party is likely to win 3-4 seats. The BJP is likely to improve its tally in West Bengal, with its estimates suggesting it could win 21-22 of the 42 seats. In Uttar Pradesh, the state with 80 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP may improve its 2019 tally of 63 by a seat or two.
