Mamta Banerjee, who was expressing her views on each and every issue and criticising the BJP and the Modi government frequently, has now adopted a 'Maun Vrat' policy. She is facing severe criticism within the state. Several Durga Puja committees in West Bengal have rejected the Rs 85,000 honorarium offered by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying they cannot accept help from the government when women have taken to the streets demanding security. Protests by various women groups have become almost a daily routine. They are demanding strict action in the case. Opposition is demanding her resignation. CM Mamta is not issuing any statement and on behalf of her, Alapan Bandopadhyaya, Advisor to CM, is speaking. He informed the media that the CM has written a letter to the PM regarding the enactment of strict laws against rape.
Now DRMs conveying benefits of UPS
After the government’s announcement about the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), the Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) are disseminating benefits of UPS. Delhi and Lucknow, NR DRMs called the press to address the issue, The PC was organised on Janmashtami holiday. Lucknow DRM S N Sharma and Delhi DRM Sukhvinder Singh said the purpose of this press conference was to inform everyone about the recent cabinet note regarding the UPS. Experts opined that perhaps for the first time DRMs have been asked to publicise the cabinet decision.
