Regional parties fighting for survival in Haryana?

When national parties are overshadowing in Haryana politics, the regional parties are apparently fighting for their existence now. The 2024 Haryana Assembly elections will apparently see a direct contest between Congress and BJP, with regional parties struggling to stay relevant. In 2019, the VS polls, the Jananayak Janata Party (JJP) emerged as the third-largest party, winning ten seats with 14.80 per cent of the vote share. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) vote share dropped to 2.44 per cent. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections reflected the declining popularity of both JJP and INLD. JJP’s vote share plummeted to 0.87 percent, while INLD’s dropped to 1.74 per cent. Thus, the political landscape in Haryana has now shifted significantly, with regional parties marginalised and fighting for their existence.
