Congress party’s office to shift to new building soon

Congress party’s office is going to shift to a new building at DD Upadhyay Marg near ITO in Delhi. The five-storey building will accommodate IYC and Women’s wing, initially. It is said that the shifting will be done from November 14-19 - the birth anniversaries of Pt Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

Punjab fertilizer shortage has links to Haryana Assembly polls?

Punjab has got used to facing shortage of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP), an essential fertilizer, ahead of the Rabi season in recent years. However, this time another reason is being attributed to the crisis – the Haryana Assembly polls. Punjab requires around 5.5 lakh tonnes of DAP for Rabi season, which extends from October to April. Some leaders alleged the Centre is diverting the fertilizer supply to neighbouring Haryana to ensure there is no shortage of it during the elections there. The BJP as well as the Centre have been at the receiving end of farmers’ wrath over legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). The shortage in Punjab currently is estimated to be 3.5 lakh tonnes, and is threatening to disrupt sowing operations for potato and wheat. The supply to Punjab is likely to start after the elections process is over, a senior official said.

Seat-sharing in ruling Mahayuti over: BJP to contest 150 – 155 seats!

In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti alliance - the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – is likely to announce seat-sharing formula soon. According to sources, BJP will contest the highest number of seats, followed by the Sena and NCP. “The BJP is likely to contest anywhere between 150 and 155 seats, the Sena 90-95 seats and the NCP 40-45 seats. Multiple rounds of meetings have taken place between the alliance leaders to finalise the seat-sharing arrangement.

Modi launches Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme.The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme in Top Companies (Scheme) has been announced in the Budget 2024-25. It aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in top 500 companies over five years. Through this scheme, youth will gain exposure to real-life business environments, across varied professions and employment opportunities. To roll-out this ambitious scheme, a pilot project of the scheme, targeted at providing 1.25 lakh internship opportunities during FY 2024-25. This will be implemented through an online portal developed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), accessible at www.pminternship.mca.gov.in. Graduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, and IIITs and those having qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, any master’s or higher degree are ineligible to apply. Similarly, If any member of the family is a permanent/regular government employee, can't apply.
