UPA to form Government in case Rahul Gandhi ----?

Political observers believe that UPA will come to power again if Rahul Gandhi  makes an announcement that he would not become PM and remain in Organisation. If he plays the role of King Maker, like Sonia Gandhi, then chances of formation of UPA Government are bright.

Will Vasundhara Raje be Anandiben Patel ?

Top circles feel that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will be another Anandi Ben Patel. Sooner or later she will be made Governor of a big state.

My Uncle who is a Progressive Punjab Farmer..... with a sizeable holding ....

...is staying with me on this trip of his to Delhi. We sit in the lawn and over Lassi and Sandwiches we get chatting.

Me: So are Farmers happy with Jaitley's announcement on MSP.....

Uncle: Sachch boloo... we Farmers cannot be satisfied.... even if we got all Swaminathan has recommended still we will find something to crib about..and then you have crooked Farmer Leaders who always predict doom for us....

M: Why is that....

U: Decades of denial have played havoc with our psyches..... its a variant of the Stockholm Syndrome.....and our insecurities of decades have made us gullible... easy prey for these unscrupulous

M: The Rabi Crop has already paid handsomely ....+50% of Production Cost... what is the current cribbage...

U: They want Production cost for Kharrif too to be calculated taking these parameters into consideration.....value of agricultural inputs such as seeds and fertilizers; hired human, animal and machine labour; land revenue and irrigation charges; depreciation of farm implements and buildings; interest on working capital; rent paid for leased in land; and imputed value of family labour....

M: Get it... so now the cribbing is about the Rent difference in different areas.... labour cost differences.....farm impliments and mechanization cost differences ...

U: I told you cribbing is our pastime....like in Punjab two of us get together in the evening... what do we do.... crib and drink...

M: Uncle ji start seeing Hindi TV Soaps...you will start worrying and doubting  every relationship...and stop cribbing about MSP...

U: Ha ha... but all said and done the Rabbi Crop returns have been 50%+ of Production Cost....

M: With handsome Rabbi returns has consumerism picked up in the agri belts..

U: Yes... like how analysts describe a uptick... green shoots can be seen....what could really improve the situation for  marginal farmers... alternate avenues of employment... had LAB gone through ...in village clusters processing units for value addition would have come up...not  only would these have given better prices to the Farmers... especially TOP Farmers...but also provided gainful employment to some family members of Farmers... so Rural Employment scene would have seen a huge pick up!!

M: Farmer household incomes would have risen considerably....what is the toilet scene in rural Punjab...

U: I heard what Azad had said... khisiani billi khumba nochche....fact is women folk have stopped going into the fields to a great extent... the migratory labour tend to go into the fields....Government needs to incentivize Farmers to get Toilets made for Farm Labour ... and put up BioGas plants to handle excreta..of both animals and humans!! All can be subsidized!! Farmer households would  then get cooking gas for free....

M: If elections are held today who would you vote for...

U: I voted for Amrinder...mind you not for Congress.... Rabbi returns have created a change of heart... Kharrif returns on the same basis would bring about a sea change... we would look towards AD+BJP...hoping for more.....

M: After AD+BJP lost seems the Drugs issue has disappeared...

U: Was hyped to show every Punjabi is an addict...

M: And now...

U: Every Punjabi lives lPatialaife  style... Patiala... pegs, turbans, attire, affairs....generally zest for life....

M: I think Pakistani men have a reason to worry...a major chunk of their women folk could  shift to Punjab in India...following the Patiala example....

We have a good laugh and move inside for Lunch.
