Is the SAD losing its identity in Punjab?

Once a powerful regional party in Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is reportedly losing its ground in the state. According to CM Bhagwant Maan, the SAD has reached such a pitiable situation that the party has not even four candidates to fight the election. Notably, the SAD has decided not to take part in the by-polls in Punjab this time.

In UP Congressmen are a dejecting lot

The Congress has decided not to field its candidates in the 9 assembly by-polls this time instead the party will support the Samajwadi Party candidates in the polls. The party high command's decision has frustrated the workers in the state. They feel that this decision will further uproot the party from the ground, which already has very little presence in the state.
