Why is Congress targeting AAP in Delhi?

The Congress is adopting a confrontational approach toward AAP in Delhi. This marks a significant departure from its earlier strategy of playing a supporting role in several states, where it allied with regional parties like SP, BSP in UP, RJD in Bihar, and DMK in Tamil Nadu. However, these alliances yielded little benefit for Congress in terms of political gains or public perception. Congress's influence has diminished considerably over the past decade in Delhi. By directly challenging AAP, Congress is trying to assert itself as a stronger contender for voters seeking an alternative to BJP.
