Delhi Election:  Political landscape changed

Delhi’s political landscape has undergone a significant change over the years. Once, the BJP lost power in the capital due to the soaring prices of onions and inflation, making way for the Congress. However, after 15 years in power, the Congress faced defeat over allegations of corruption. Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) then rose to prominence, securing power through a focus on welfare policies and free schemes. For the past decade, the party has maintained its hold on the capital. While the BJP now continues its efforts to corner Kejriwal over allegations of settling illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, the issue has not gained the traction they anticipated. Now, it is clear that Delhi's politics, which once revolved around issues like inflation, corruption, and development, appears to be deviating.

What lies ahead for INDI Alliance?

Cracks in INDI Alliance raise serious questions about its future. The friction became evident during the Maharashtra elections, where the Samajwadi Party declared its separation from the opposition’s MVA. Recently, the relations between the AAP and Congress have hit a new low in Delhi where the two parties are engaged in a bitter war of words. Whether the disintegration in the alliance can be halted or will accelerate in the New Year remains to be seen.
