What did Surjewala hint at in Karnataka?

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, in charge of the Karnataka Congress, has emphasized the party’s commitment to unity. He said Congress is ready to sacrifice a government, but not the party. His remarks came during a meeting at the Karnataka Congress office, attended by party workers and ministers. Surjewala likened the party to a "mother" and the government to its "child."  His comments are seen as a response to internal tensions involving Home Minister G Parameshwara and Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna, who, along with Dalit MLAs, expressed dissatisfaction with the party's approach. Amid speculation that DK Shivakumar may replace Siddaramaiah as CM, Surjewala’s statement reinforces the importance of addressing internal grievances.

Former Union Minister Smriti Irani could start her political inning in Delhi. BJP is yet to announce candidates for 12 assembly seats and names of Smriti Irani and Meenakshi Lehki are in circulation. Delhi has 70 assembly constituencies.
