Leadership dispute in Mahagathbandhan?
The Mahagathbandhan alliance, preparing for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, has ramped up its coordination. In a notable development, leaders from all alliance partners—including the Congress, RJD, and Left parties—are working together more visibly and actively than before. For the first time, district-level leaders from these alliance parties are being brought under one platform to emphasize the importance of unity and coordination. Despite these moves toward unity, a major sticking point remains unresolved: the question of projecting RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance’s chief ministerial face. The Congress party’s reluctance to endorse Tejashwi for the top post has stalled a unanimous announcement on leadership. Nevertheless, RJD strategists are actively engaging with senior Congress leaders in Delhi in an attempt to break the deadlock.
