Now Special Intensive Revision of voter list in West Bengal?

After Bihar, West Bengal Chief Electoral Office is ready for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state. The office of CEO, West Bengal, has communicated to the Election Commission of India (ECI) that the ground work is ready to begin the process of the Special Intensive Revision in the state. The CEO’s office has also compiled the reports sent by different District Election Officers (DEOs) on the ground-level preparedness for the process. The revision process has been completed recently in neighbouring Bihar, where the polls are scheduled this year. The Assembly elections in West Bengal are scheduled for the first quarter of next year. However, SIR has  created political slugfest as the ruling Trinamool Congress has described the revision exercise as a ploy by the BJP to slap the NRC in West Bengal while the BJP had claimed that Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were opposing the Special Intensive Revision of fear that names of many illegal Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators would be deleted from the list following the exercise. The last time that Special Intensive Revision was conducted in West Bengal was in 2002.

Will the Congress minister join BJP in Karnataka?

Security of leaders revised in Bihar

The Bihar Police has revised the security parameters to various political figures in the state. Accordingly, Samrat Chaudhary, Dy CM  has been put under the Z+ security, while Tejashwai Yaday, LoP in the Vidhan Sabha will get Z security cover. Pappu Yadav, Pradip Kumar Singh, and Gyanendra Singh Gyanu will receive Y+ security cover, and Neeraj Kumar, MLC, has been given Y category security.
