Will J&K’s Statehood be restored today?

The buzz in the political circle is that the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will be introducing a bill - making an amendment to the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963 and bringing J & K Reorganisation Bill 2025, effectively granting Statehood to the J&K. The speculation also gained traction after a cryptic tweet by the current Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdullah stating ‘Please I can’t take anymore of this’ has gone viral on X. It is to be seen if the speculation fructifies, reversing the previous legislation of J&K Reorganisation Act 2019.

Media is more serious than leaders

Both houses of parliament are not working and daily ruckus forced the Chair to adjourn the house proceedings. But reporters covering Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha go daily to report every event.
