What could be the reason behind INDI alliance disunity in Bihar?

In the political circles experts are giving their own reasoning behind the disunity of Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar Assembly elections. Sources said that the Congress was trying to grab maximum seats for which RJD reportedly did not agree. They also said that one section within the party was not ready to accept Tejaswi Yadav as the CM face who has recently been chargesheeted in IRCTC land grab case by Delhi Court. The case has dented the Lalu Yadav family’s reputation badly, they opined. The Congress' intention to increase its vote share and number of seats to reach the bargaining level has reportedly irked the RJD.

Reports suggest that the idea for NDA’s ₹10,000 seed capital scheme for women in Bihar, launched under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (MMRY), was significantly influenced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s political strategy model. Known for pioneering direct benefit transfer (DBT)-driven welfare politics in Assam—especially women-focused initiatives like Orunodoi—Sarma reportedly advised NDA’s Bihar campaign strategists to replicate a similar approach in the state. The scheme, which provides ₹10,000 to around 75 lakh women self-help group members as seed money for small businesses, mirrors Sarma’s use of targeted welfare to consolidate women voters as a decisive bloc. Within the NDA’s Bihar strategy, it was positioned as both a governance measure and an electoral masterstroke to sustain Nitish Kumar’s strong female voter base. The one-time ₹7,500-crore payout has since been described within BJP circles as a “DBT Brahmastra” designed to reshape electoral momentum ahead of the polls.
