Karnataka results to be turning point !

It is said that results of the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha will be turning point in the Indian politics. It will be known where the wind is blowing.

Will Union Cabinet be reshuffled ?

PM Modi is likely to reshuffle his cabinet after the Parliament session or when Karnataka elections are over. According to sources, portfolios of more than half a dozen ministers could be changed and equal number of new faces are likely to be inducted.

Impeachment drama

My neighbor and a friend of his drop in for Coffee. Over Coffee, Bread Pakodas and Kheer we get chatting.

Neighbour:  Meet my friend he's a successful Lawyer...

Me: Nice meeting you....so what's the buzz in the Legal Arena..

Friend: CJI ka impeachment move chall raha hai...total Fog chall raha hai on this move..

M: Its basically aimed at the impending Babri Verdict...

F: Yes... that's the buzz... their...meaning Congress and others... feel that once Impeachment motion is moved the CJI becomes a Lame Duck CJI... which in my opinion is sheer hogwash...Justice is not an ass... that if a Political Party feels a Judgement could damage its prospects it musters required support for moving for Impeachment and makes the CJI Lame Duck...to suit itself.....yes if its a technical issue pertaining to CJI's appointment then the CJI could voluntarily become a Lame Duck till case is decided...

M: So CJI continues with his work and the Impeachment proceedings  continue side by side.... Speaker of LS and Chairperson of RS will disallow the motion for sure..

N: Is that the end... cannot be!!

F: A Committee will be formed of ....one SC Judge, one HC Judge and a eminent Jurist.

M: What about the infamous 4 Judges...

F: Technically I think they cannot be part of the Committee as they have questioned the CJI and are thus biased.

N: So what if Committee exonerates CJI..

F: Will have to be accepted by both Houses..if however Committee upholds Motion it'll have to be adopted by 2/3rd majority in both Houses...which as per present numbers is an impossibility..

M: So this is just a drama to cause an upheavel ...with the hope that somehow the Babri verdict is postponed....

N: What if they approach SC post the disallowing of the motions by the Speakers and Chairman of the House..

F: There is a set procedure... the Committee comes next... SC cannot intefere in this ... this is Legislative business ...and its about the SC

..so as it is SC should stay away..

M: I think a Congressman who is a leading Lawyer is leading this in a missionary mode.... seems he feels this has the potential to be his crowning achievement..

F: Or his way of letting future CJIs know....who he is!!!

N: Is he the Lawyer who asked CJI to delay Babri verdict to post 2019 election... just see his gall... a Lawyer telling the CJI when he should deliver a particular verdict...

M: If he has his way now I'm sure he will be dictating Orders to future CJIs...

F: I think the CJI should convene a meeting of the entire Court to look into this Lawyer activism...

N: Has a CJI ever been impeached...

F: Foreseeing the crooked political minds our Constitutional Forefathers made it into a decision that would require near unanimity of both Houses...no..... till date no CJI impeached.... there have been impeachment motions but none succeeded ....and neither  will this one...

N: And I feel Modi can literally turn the tables on the ones demanding impeachement...

M: From your lips to God's ears....

I see my neighbour and the Lawyer off at the gate.
