At a get-together, topic of PM material was going on. Most of the people said that in BJP there are more PM material politicians than the Congress.

Ma'am ki Economics...

My friend who works for a Economics Foundation meets me at a Cafe in CP.... over Latte Shakes and Muffins we get chatting.

Me: Now the next hue and cry will be on fuel prices....

Friend: But if you actually study..Petrol prices .....2003 - 29.00....2006 - 47.00....2010 - 51.00.....2012 - 65.00........ April 2014 - 79.26....May 2018 - 78.21...so during UPA 1 and 2 increase of 4.4/ year...BJP Government ...1.05 lower than inherited price...in 4 years....keep in mind how magnificently inflation has been kept low now...

M: Fuel Prices rose during UPA  despite the pricing not being dynamic....the prices are now dynamic...

F: This is a fiscally responsible Government....unlike UPA...Sonia and her NGO Lobby first threw fiscal discipline out of the window and she on NGO Lobby's behest   went berserk on entitlement programs [MNREGA, Right to Food, Relentless increase in MSP, Oil Subsidy] but there was no money to pay for it...so what Goverment did - it borrowed like crazy...printed money like crazy....

M: I recall Sonia did all this when Wage Bill went up exponentially.... and then she came up with Farm waiver..... thinking money printing would go on LRC!!

F: And dont forget the 16 paisa per Rupee formula kicked in...which means only 16 paisa of every Rs of funds sent reached Ground  0 ....... 84 paisa was pilfered enroute... bubbles were created in Real Estate and Stocks..the benificiaries of the Programmes and subsidies were shortchanged..nefarious lot raked it in...... .if this was not enough - Sonia's Party Leaders worked with cronies to secure loans from PSU Banks while her NGO lobby stalled the same projects which resulted in huge pile-up of NPA and PSU Bank Chairmen kept rolling loans over...

M: The end result: Massive Inflation....money was just flowing on the street and the few chosen one's  made tons of money....physical asset prices skyrocketed while real economy struggled and everything started moving out of reach of ordinary people....

F: A disabled economy was handed over to BJP..... NPA's were rocketing.... deficit too.... there is something called Primary deficit which is basically Fiscal deficit minus Interest payments. It's an indicator how responsibly Government is spending our money. During BJP's 4 years its come down dramatically.... UPA's time went berserk...

M: It's ironic that all these Mainstream Media channels do fact checks on Modi's speeches but let Rahul Gandhi get away with all kinds of nonsense like Modi is taxing fuel for personal purposes and they giggle.....

F: Modi has been conservative enough to make the ship sail ....a ship which has so many holes created by Sonia Manmohan....he's had to first 'weld shut' quite a number of holes.... like the diversion of subsidies.....corruption..... etc.

M: Its really hilarious when they compare Rahul with Modi....

F: Its like comparing Gold Standard with Chinese Bronze......

We laugh and I pay the tab and we move out.
