Political observers now say that Rahul Gandhi has developed confidence in dealing with the party affairs and national problems.

No taker for Kurian?

P J Kurian, the longest serving Vice Chairman of RS, is now passing through in a deep political crisis. A Congress man Kurian has been denied ticket for lone RS seat from Kerala, which has been given to Kerala Congress (Mani). This is an indication that no taker for Kurian now in Congress or in opposition.

I'm at my favourite Cafe for my mid-morning Coffee fix. My friend who used to be a AAP Supporter drops in and over Coffees and Muffins we get chatting.

Friend: Vote maang

ke aaye theh paanch saal ke liye.... chaar politicking mein beeth gaye aur ek movies dekhne mein.... this is Kejri...

Me: I know .... from day one all that he did was politick...first his ambition to become a National Leader made him go haywire and got him into trouble....and now he's politicking to save face with Delhi Voters...

F: What a sham this LG Office mein sit-in is!!! If he really cares for Delhi all he needs to do is apologize to CS and expel the two AAPians who manhandled CS...the fear in the IAS Officers would go that in meetings they  too could be manhandled...

M: Actually I feel this sit-in is to pass blame for Delhi's power and water woes... because now he'll express helplessness and say... we wanted to help out but Bureaucrats on strike...

F: They are not on strike ....working ....just not attending meetings with AAP Netas.... this Doorstep Ration is a stupid idea...  idiotic to make Government  responsible for delivery....

M: It looks fantastic  on paper but is unimplementable....Kejri knew no LG in his right senses would agree to this scheme... but he gets to boast... 'see we wanted to do this but LG did not agree' !! If you outsource delivery its too expensive... if Government does it on its own

... huge strain on manpower... opportunity for corruption....

F: And he blames Modi for everything.... if Modi is supposed to do everything then why doesn't he request for Governer's Rule.... as he says LG is in control of Modi then Modi will do the needful..

M: This sudden power has made him go wonky.....

F: 2019 will be a shocker for him and the Delhi Elections will clear out all his misnomers....

M: Like a spoilt kid Kejri says LG should meet him.... meet him and do what... LG can't placate the angst of the IAS Officers who don't go for meetings with AAP Leaders.... part out of anger and part out of fear that they  too could be manhandled...as for Ration Delivery scheme... LG has made his views clear... so meet and do what...

F: Kejri just tweeted.... 'PM Sir, suppose Hansmukh Adhia, Nripendra Mishra, Pradeep Sinha, R N Choubey, Sushil Kumar come to their office everyday but stop attending all the meetings called by you and they say that they are not on strike- will you be able to work?'

M: Well BJP doesn't believe in roughing up Bureaucrats....and if by chance a BJP Leader had misbehaved... Modi would have handled the situation like a Family Elder.... and as for full State status for Delhi Kejri needs to read the Constitution...this City State deserves to be a semi State...

F: Chalo enough of these losers and their stupid manoeuvring....coming to Agriculture.... India is now in a regime of surpluses when it comes to Agriculture.... we now need to rethink  the Essential Commodities Act..

M: Yes...in recent years supply response of Farmers has changed.... see Pulses... Sugar..

F: Government really has to do a rejig of Storage ...

M: Had LAB gone through today scenario ....be it storage.... value addition.... alternative employment ..would have changed for the best!

F: I hear RaGa was really itching that Modi tags him in the Exercise Challenge....

M: Would be a proper slight  for him if now some Junior BJP Minister tags him...

F: Is it true that the Hotel where the Iftar was held is cribbing about some missing Katoris and Spoons..

M: No idea....ho bhi saktha hai.. and could also be just a rumour...

F: This you will agree when it comes to Opposition the bar literally touches the ground...

M: And still they'll find ways of going lower... you will get to see plenty of this in run-up to 2019 General Election...

Modi Down But Not Out

Who has been the most succesfull bureaucrat turned politician ?

Eyeing politics as a vibrant medium of serving the nation, several civil servants have in the past several years identified politics as more suitable career to serve the people. Given the fact that they found the political system much comfortable and active in order to bring about the desired change, it however remains to be seen that who among the bureaucrats (who turned politicians) have been most succesfull both in the state and at the Centre.
