This is History (945)

We need a visionary leader with very big and bold ideas. This is a very big, very bold country.

Now new pattern in Indian politics ?

Now new pattern of voting is expected in Indian politics. In the states, Regional Parties  will be preferred while in the Lok Sabha election Modi would be favoured.

Vohra’s term extended

NN Vohra, Governor of J&K is going to continue. His term has been extended for three months from July.

(We  said this on May 30 and on June 20)

Good Riddance...

My old College friend who is a big time Carpet Businessman based in Srinagar drops in.... over Coffees and  Bourbon and Jim-Jam Biscuits we get chatting.

Me: So Mehbooba is no longer the CM..

Friend: High time... I think the day she insisted on filing a case against Maj.Gogoi...... BJP should  have given her ultimum not to file case and then withdrawn if she did!!

M: Seems she just kept asking for more...and more!!

F: Understand the Kashmiri psyche.. you hire a Shikara for the ammount a Shikara-waala has demanded.....say 600..... when you pay...he'll ask for 1000... saying he did a Tourist Guide's job too..... if this does not  work...he'll  try to sell you a sob story... if this does not work he'll beckon the other Shikara-waalas and try to bully you... and if outsiders could put up Shikaaras they'd drive them out by hook or crook.....this is exactly how the Kashmiri Neta's mind works ..

M: I'm  told Mehbooba tried bargaining using the Amarnath Yatra....

F: No sane CM would use it as a bargaining ploy.....

the ceasefire was unwarranted.... and should have been revoked the minute the Zealots continued with terror activities..

M: Seems there were informants in the Government that kept the terror  lot appraised of Police and Army Operations..

F: This explains how at the opportune moment Stone Pelting Protestors appeared...

M: Now its being projected that trigger happy Army will shoot Kashmiris LRC..

F: Foolish... Muscular Policy is responding to Terror activities....its defensive  proactiveness...

M: NC and Congress saying PDP and BJP alliance was an opportunistic alliance for power..

F: The feeling was this could either prove a boon for Kashmir or go horribly  wrong ....it would  have been  a boon had Mehbooba realised what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong.... her softness on terror lot proved to be the undoing of this Alliance...

M: So what do you expect in Guv's Rule...

F: Will prove to be good for Kashmiris...terror will be tackled muscularly....semblance of law and order will return which will be good for Business and Tourism...

M: Be it PDP or NC when they are out of power they are soft on Terror... then when they come to power they show some responsibility before  going back to their being  soft on terror...

F: BJP has done itself and Kashmir a favor by pulling out of this Alliance..

M: Now Army Officers will not be targeted for taking on terror.... tourists won't be attacked...Amarnath Yatra will go off smoothly... all because now the Terror lot won't get inside info... and they know the Government means business ...

F: I hear Kejri is back home calling this standoff a victory...

M: Did LG meet him...no.... was the Ration issue resolved...no.... Bureaucrats returned to work based on Kejri's indirect acceptance of manhandling of CS and assurance that such things will not take place in future.... so how did they win!!

F: Maybe in today's World to claim victory in loss is considered an art...

M: Maybe .... but the prerequisite is... person has to have a thick hide...0 self respect.....

F: Kejri's put on weight... maybe what we don't see he's  developed a rhino hide that makes him look bulky..

M: And the joke doing rounds is... Kejri ended the Dharna as his data pack expired and he couldn't tweet anymore...

We have a good laugh and I see my friend off at the door.

Modi Down But Not Out
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity is going down with each passing day, they say. “Modi as PM has not been able to fulfill the aspirations of people and, thus, he should go”. But then Who is the PM material in the country ?

whispersinthecorridors.com asked its surfers - Is there a substitute for PM Narendra Modi in BJP or any other political party ? If so, who ? – and the majority said that the country is, at present, short of having a person of the stature of Modi.

DEBATE

Who has been the most succesfull bureaucrat turned politician ?

Eyeing politics as a vibrant medium of serving the nation, several civil servants have in the past several years identified politics as more suitable career to serve the people. Given the fact that they found the political system much comfortable and active in order to bring about the desired change, it however remains to be seen that who among the bureaucrats (who turned politicians) have been most succesfull both in the state and at the Centre.
