I discourage a cult of personality.

Mainstream political parties don’t know to perform their respective tasks

Both the mainstream political parties – the BJP and the Congress - don’t know how to perform their respective tasks. While the BJP doesn’t knows how to rule, the Congress is unaware  of how to act as an opposition.

Will SP, BSP alliance last long ?

SP, BSP alliance is unlikely to last long given the fact that there are dissensions at every level.

Sound Economy

My friend who works for a Policy Think Tank meets me at my morning Coffee haunt. Over Coffees and Sandwiches we get chatting.

Me: CEA Arvind Subramaniam has put in his papers ....really a very vital phase when he's going.

Friend: Hard Nosed Economist..... he was the one who wanted interest rates to plummet...was against all subsidies....

M: So could this be a signal that Modi is going to turn populist...Arvind Subramanian may not be comfortable with the Populist Model.....his may have been pure capitalist model of Economics ..

F: Government has substantial reserves to go populist.... because one thing for sure Modi will not do and that is go populist at the expense of Deficit...

M: RaGa says all the bright minds deserting this Government...

F: Well if he's hinting Rockstar Rajan he's wrong.... Rockstar was  allegedly interested in continuing but Government was not interested....

M: And given an opportunity I'm  sure he'll come running back...

F: But what does the Economy say.... Deficit in check... inflation down.. GDP up.... so RaGa's wolf cries on the economy don't show in the economy parameters...

M: I was just reading ...Government debt as share of GDP....USA 2008: 74%

2018: 108%......France 2008: 69% 2018: 96%......UK 2008: 50% 2018: 86% China 2008: 27% 2018: 51%.....Japan

2008: 183% 2018: 236% and India 2008: 75% 2018: 69%... so Mr. RaGa India's Economy is on a sound footing.... not vulnerable as you make it out to be...

F: So Kejri has left for Bangalore... SOP after he gets into a fix and wants to be incommunicado...

M: He hopes Dilliwaale will move on and forget what's just happened...so in effect to make them forget he's using their money....after all Delhi Tax Payer indirectly pays for his treatment...

F: 10 days....I think a cool 7-9 lacs gone....

M: But if his sugar was shooting up he should  have increased his insulin dosage and regulated  his oral intake...

F: Arre its tension that must have caused his sugar to rise.... after all he knew he's unfairly bitten off more than he can ever chew....

M: Vemula issue really shows you the ruthlessness of Netas....

F: He was suspended for a pro Yakub Memon event.... committed suicide... he was not a Dalit but vested Political interests showed him to be a Dalit....one party used his death for casteism....another Party used his Mom....and shamelessly they blame BJP...

M: This Cheque bouncing brought out how his death was being milked and how its being abused politically...

F: The Party that is known to have a full- fledged Dirty Tricks Department surely has more such tricks up its sleeves...

M: In fact their USP.... BJP can show the tremedous work its done in 4 years....yeh bechaare kya dikhaaye!!!

F: Rumours that RaGa to embark on a overseas jaunt soon...if his Mom has not returned then his Twitter Handler will Tweet.... 'On Mom's Duty....going to get her back....I am the Congress President but I am also a son.... see you soon'....

M: Why do they refuse to take SPG with them...here toh even when they must be going to the loo SPG stands on gaurd outside...

F: They are very private people... they don't divulge where they are going....when and why they are going... Sonia's disease....progress....nothing ....zilch!!!

M: I think if a Survey is done most Indians will say their silence and the fact that they don't take SPG with them arouses suspicion...

F: They don't care about what we think ...or feel....they are confident via their Caste ... Region and Religion politics they can befool us..

M: Well the results say something else....down to 48 Seats in LS and now in power in just 2 1/2 States (1/2 is Puddecherry)

directly ....treated like Pariahs by other Opposition Parties..

F: Public seem to be dumping the old saying.... Jidhe palle daane udhe jhalle wee siyaane ( those who have the means their stupidness is looked upon as intelligence)...

We have a good laugh....pay the tab and move out...

Modi Down But Not Out

Who has been the most succesfull bureaucrat turned politician ?

Eyeing politics as a vibrant medium of serving the nation, several civil servants have in the past several years identified politics as more suitable career to serve the people. Given the fact that they found the political system much comfortable and active in order to bring about the desired change, it however remains to be seen that who among the bureaucrats (who turned politicians) have been most succesfull both in the state and at the Centre.
