This is History (909)

At home, you always have to be a politician; when you're abroad, you almost feel yourself a statesman.

Will Yeddy be out of K'taka politics?

After defeat in urban local bodies elections, BJP stalwart Yeddyurappa is likely to say good bye to Karnataka politics. According to Observers, a section in the party also feels that Yeddy has been given ample time in Karnataka. Now time has come that his services should be utilized at national level.

Will reservation & SC/ST act favour ?

Govt's two recent steps - reintroduction of SC/ST Act and reservation in service are going to be hot topics in the forthcoming assemblies and LS elections. According to experts, these issues have reached to such a point that no political parties can do anything. Voter's verdict likely to decide the fate of this issue.

Chinese Gandhis....

Travelling to Mumbai... the gentleman seated next to me picks up a conversation a few minutes after the plane takes off. We introduce ourselves  first. He's a US based PIO and works for a Defence Equipment Magazine.

Me: As you work in the field of Defence..... what's your take on the Rafalle Deal....

Gentleman: The word in the Industry is India has got a damn good Deal...seems the French were tired of the delays and were desperate for this Order.... so went a extra mile to clinch this Deal. Also they say ...its a Deal without any grease...if you get my gist..

M: Yup... I know the perception is no Defence Deal used to go through in India without greasing...

G: Another rumor .... a Congress Leader with a few Juniors and a US Senator met the CEOs of US Arms Companies and a month or so after these meetings Congress started damning the Rafalle Deal...

M: I think 0 Commission in this Rafalle Deal sets a very bad precedence for those who cannot think of Commission free Defence Deals...

G: I'm sure Dassault must be concerned... what if  BJP goes out of power in 2019!!!!

M: I think ....best case scenario for India.... Modi comes back with absolute majority.....then okay-okay scenario... Modi led coalition....worst scenario... Mahaghatbandhan Khichdi (MK) Sarkaar ....

G: Well if the MK Sarkaar wants Grease in Rafalle which they will in all probability ... this would only be possible by increasing the price...how they'll justify price increase would be interesting...why's RaGa taking Chinese route to Mansarovar...though technically he's not stated the route.. Congress says for Security reasons...

M: Indian Pilgrims go to Kailash Mansarovar via Nepal.... yes....why is RaGa going via China..

G: And even more shocking is  Chinese Ambassador wanting  to see him off..maybe Chinese taking the nickname given to his Family a bit too seriously...

M: Ha ha... Chinese Gandhis....though it was given to show that they are duplicate Gandhis..not linked in any way to the real Gandhi.... Mahatma Gandhi...

G: Actually RaGa is just like Chinese Products...100% unreliable....even Congis say this off the record..

M: His attention span is limited.... he can fly off in a jiffy... shoots and scoots...

G: And to top it all BJP claims he wanted a ceremonial send-off Band Baaja...I found the topic interesting and so I delved more and more into it...another topic I'm interested in is NPAs in India...  really mind boggling..

M: And what have you found ..

G: Just saw a clip in which PM Modi makes a startling revelation......in 60 years, from 1947 to 2008 Indian banks lent ₹18 lakh crores to Borrowers.....in 6 years, from 2008 to 2014 this amount rose to a whopping ₹52 lakh crores!!

M: You pose this to Congress's part-time Star Lawyer ... Part-time Economist .... Part-time Writer.....who himself is in a spot of trouble.... and for all you know he will say .... shows progress during UPA...we brought such Policies that there was a hunger for loans...

G: Greed would be apt....

The flight starts its descent and once we land both of us get busy checking missed calls and messages...
