This is History (928)

The most practical kind of politics is the politics of decency.

Why Congress is in dilemma?

Congress, it seems, to be in dilemma in the forthcoming five Assembly elections. Party is not able to firm up its alliance with any regional parties. Secondly, the party is also facing severe fund crisis and not getting any sound financial backing from any corner whereas regional parties has cordial relations with business houses in their states.

Will Mayawati go it alone in UP?

Mayawati, BSP Supremo, likely to fight LS elections alone. Though sources said that she will decide about UP after the outcome of three Assembly elections due in December this year. But her recent statements and actions are indication of 'ekla chalo re'.

SC on a roll...

Is there some Award for lying!!!

RaGa lies and lies though his lies no one is buying!!

Now he says Sardar Patel statue being made in Cheen!

Statue being made by L&T and has Made in India tag!!!

He's wrong if he thinks with this lying Modi hotha hai nag!

With RaGa Modi doesn't get into a slanging match!

And by ignoring  him Modi wins 'game, set and match'!

A JS in MOD had put a note in Rafale file!!

Which held up progress of file for a while!

His basic objection was about  benchmark price!!!

But this Government showed  it harbours no bias!!

The same JS is now with CAG auditing the Rafale Deal!!!

This is how confident about its actions this Government does feel!

If this Government had something to hide!

This JS in some 'kuda line job' time karr raha hotha bide!

The one who dissented gets to Audit the Deal!!

Possible only if your conscience is clear that you did not steal!

If Aaadhar had been struck down !

There would have been a breakdown!

Yes scamsters would have celebrated!!

Opportunity to restart Business SC has created!

Validity of Aadhaar has been upheld!!!

And it does not infringe on Privacy SC has held!

Mandatory for Social Schemes, PAN and IT filing!!

Quashes surveillance theory ...no rights its defiling!!

Babus Find Politics More Vibrant To Serve The People

By Sanjay Sharma

Much has been said from time to time on the merits and demerits of bureaucrats joining politics. It has also been debated for long whether there should be a ‘cooling off’ period for a civil servant before he enters politics after quitting or even after retirement.

While difference of opinion over these issues can never be ruled out, there could be no two opinions that, theoretically bureaucrats are most eligible and efficient persons for becoming politicians as they are well acquainted with ground realities - necessary for policy formation.

Having worked at various stages - at district level as collectors, at state level in secretariat and , in majority cases, at various positions in central government, they are supposed to be well versed with the ‘process of policy implementation’ - a boon to serve the nation  in their stint as a politician and as a minister in government in particular,.

But since the officers rarely have the freedom to work as they please, and are mostly employed in service of politicians and not the State, many of them  - eyeing politics as a vibrant medium of serving the nation - join it.

There is a long list of former bureaucrats, police officers, diplomats, technocrats, academics and army officers who are into politics.

They include familiar names like General VK Singh, Kiran Bedi, Ms. Meira Kumar, Hardeep Puri, RK Singh, Sanjiv Tripathi, Mani Shankar Aiyar, N K Singh, Satyapal Singh, Bhagirath Prasad, Yashwant Sinha, Ajit Jogi, Nagabhairava Jayaprakash Narayan, Alphons Kannanthanam, Jesudasu Seelam, J Sundara Sekhar, Arvind Kejriwal, PL Punia and the list goes on.........
