It is said that veteran leaders - L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi - are being given some respectable assignments in order to allow them with present bungalows and car facilities.

Latest buzz is that Ajit Doval may be inducted in the Union Cabinet as Foreign Minister. Mystery will be over on Thursday. Name of Smriti Irani is also in circulation.

Look- who is coming to attend PM's swearing in ceremony !

Apart from VIPs and Foreign dignitaries some unknown people are likely to attend PM's swearing in ceremony this time. It is said that kins of those party workers, who were reportedly killed in recent election violence in WB. Now big question is whether Mamta Banerjee will attend the ceremony in such a scenario ?

According to sources, President House has prepared a list of Press Correspondents to cover the swearing -in ceremony on May 30. It is said that the list contains 125+ names. Passes are being given to those whose name figures in the list. Reason is said to  be big numbers of VIPs and other invitees.

The real game of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would start in 2021 when NDA crosses the magic figure of 124 in Rajya Sabha . It is short by 25 seats now.

The moment Arun Jaitley has opted out of finance portfolio, at least two  faces in Chennai have become quite active. These are Dr.Subramanian Swamy and a Chennai based Chartered Accountant Swaminathan Gurumurthy .Any significance ?

Kaan ke kachche

I'm still in New York.... and today I meet an old friend who was a 'mover and shaker' in the NY Unit of an Overseas Suporters of Congress outfit... but later things soured and he exited. We meet at a Cafe and over Lattes and Cookies we get chatting.

Me: So your old Party is in a lot of trouble...

Friend: RaGa should just quit.....

Me: He now wants  to be Lok Sabha LOP....

Friend: I hear in 2014 he wanted to be President because he felt LOP is too taxing a job...

Me: Now he feels with State elections coming up.. he doesn't want more losses to be logged on his name... and he's realized LOP is more of a part-time job... when Parliament is in session...President is  365 days 24x7 job...

Friend: He's agreed to continue till a replacement is found...MMS ....St. Antony names top of the list....titular..

....4 Working Joint Presidents....via this arrangement RaGa would get the bouquets and brickbats will go to the others...

Me: I think RaGa wants to stamp his Authority.... he'll disband CWC.... reorganize State Units....funnily someone who wants to exit from being President wants to do all this..

Me: What about his Kitchen Cabinet...

Friend : Who do you think is advising him to become authoratative.....his Kitchen Cabinet.....as for Pitroda .....he was Mummy's Rep and he's already left for US...

Me: Kamalnath is in a spot....with RaGa ....and he's facing some very serious charges....

Friend: Good old Kamal.. now High Command is behaving like a Saint.... funds sent are not kept seperately  in different rooms...baloney!! I learnt  my lesson... these current Gandhis are the worst kind of fair weather friends......use and throw.....kaan ke kachche... chotti sochch waale...very unlike Nehru and Indhra..they don't inspire  loyalty... I hear a big chunk of Congis want RaGa replaced!!

Me: The Leadership defecit started with Rajiv...

Friend: And RaGa keeps saying Chiddi... Kamal and Gehlot did not take up Chowkidar Chor like was expected them to...

Friend: Arre Bhai when RaGa could not convince Congis how did he expect to convince the Nation ...

Me: Mamtha facing a phased rebellion....

Friend: What happened to Commies will happen to TMC... majority of people want peace.... violence has a limited shelf life.... now people want to progress in life.... want peace!!!

Me: So how's your earstwhile Outfit...

Friend: What Outfit... now it's BJP all the way...four  of us who used to be in the fore front moved away....got sick of being treated like errand boys cum local guides....

Me: And sometimes temporary 'Bankers' and Angadias 'Currency Couriers'..

Friend: Naughty... naughty..

We pay the tab and move out...

Who, minus, Rahul Gandhi can revive the Congress party ?

After the Congress's second consecutive devastating defeat in the Lok Sabha, the crisis within the party shows no signs of easing with Rahul Gandhi himself appearing adamant on resigning as president of the party. In such a case, the question that arises is - Who, other than Rahul Gandhi, can revive the grand old party ?
