This is History (1048)

After national political parties, now it’s turn of regional political parties ?

After giving severe jolt to the national political parties, now the agenda of Modi- Shah  is to  finish  regional political parties. The agenda will start from Andhra Pradesh and Chandra Babu Naidu should be ready to face the heat.

Every single Muslim MP comes from area where Muslim population exceeds 40%

93.9% NRIs in US supported Narendra Modi as PM again

A survey carried out by Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), states that 93.9% of the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) living in the US supported the re-election of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister!!

Two MPs from MP become pro tem speakers consecutively

BJP MP Virendra Kumar, an MP from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh, has been chosen as the pro tem speaker of 17th Lok Sabha, while Kamalnath, an ex-MP from Chhindwara, was made pro tem speaker of 16th Lok Sabha.  Thus, Madhya Pradesh makes a history of two pro tem speakers from state one after another in NDA Government.

Boon and Bane

Talk with my Economics  Professor ...he's retired now and lives in Pune. I am.in Pune and we meet at a famous Pune Restaurant and over Ussal and masala tea we get talking ...

Me: So Sir Government has decided to give  5 crore Scholarships to Minorities..

Proffessor: Good.... especially the  Majority Minority will benefit most... formal education is a gift... a boon...it lifts Society...religion based education is good for those who make Preaching into a career... I've come across  so many cases of intelligent kids going in for Religion based education.... then failing to make careers and getting into  nefarious activities...

M: Yes.. yes .... I recall as your contribution to Society you coached quite a number of prisoners in Jail who were studying for their Degree exams in Jail..

P: And mind you these Scholarships are not a election sop... because had it been a election sop BJP would have announced it prior to election... this is a focussed attempt  to educate India .. make productive Citizens...

M: Sir Sri Lanka Bombers were educated..

P: Defenitely they came into contact with a Madrassa Educated Motivator.... understand...probability..  the probability of a person with a formal education getting motivated to turn to terror are far less than of a person who has gone in for Religious Education or is uneducated... many want Madrassas to start giving formal education... but religious  inculcation will remain the major thrust..

M: So do you believe Religion is the bane...

P: As long as religion is the quest for spirituality... motivates to serve humanity recognizing all as one ...in such a case religion is a boon for Society... when 'my God is better than your  God' ... or 'your Belief is wrong' creeps in then Religion becomes a bane!! I am a Hindu.. I respect all religions.. but 'in my religosity' I'm  like a good host

.. to be a good host you do not change your cardinal rules for your guests...to prove your secular credentials.... I don't go to Mosques... but I respect a Mosque as the House of God...

M: Yes I recall some Muslim students had called you for a Iftar. You sent them the choicest Dates but did not attend the Iftar..

P: Yes... Iftar is partaking of a meal by those who keep Rozas... I did not Fast then and don't do so now..

M: What's your prognosis of the Indian Economy...

P: Two huge steps ...Demo and GST... were bound to have affects on the Economy for some Quarters. There is a slowdown....and some jumpstarting is needed..like I taught you... even a downturn  is an opportunity....just anticipate a wide range of scenarios...

M: Ex Chief Economic  Advisor says GDP figures from 2011-2012 onwards were bumped up by 2.5% on account of new methodology of calculation..

P: Was he sleeping when he was in the Government....prior to his being appointed as Economic Advisor in 2013  he had penned a scathing article against Gujarat Government and termed Modi's Gujarat Model as bogus... in 2014 he was appointed Economic Advisor... I think he's repeating  the exercise hoping after this GDP bumping up article he'll be appointed again. There will be umpteen Economists who will vouch for new methodolgy and say it's more reflective....100% accuracy is an impossibility..

M: What are your expectations of the Budget...

P: Keep attacking Corruption ...  make taxation realistic and then go after those rooking taxes.... let entrepreneurship bloom.....privatize... privatize...privatize ....

We pay the tab and move out.....

DEBATE

Who, minus, Rahul Gandhi can revive the Congress party ?

After the Congress's second consecutive devastating defeat in the Lok Sabha, the crisis within the party shows no signs of easing with Rahul Gandhi himself appearing adamant on resigning as president of the party. In such a case, the question that arises is - Who, other than Rahul Gandhi, can revive the grand old party ?
