No former PMs in Lok Sabha this time

With Manmohan Singh’s tenure as a Rajya Sabha MP coming to an end on June 14 and HD Deve Gowda having lost Lok Sabha elections, this Lok Sabha will not see any former Prime Ministers grace its halls.

J P Nadda  is now Working President to succeed Shah in December ?

The BJP’s parliamentary board, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Mody has announced  former Union Minister J.P. Nadda the party’s working president, after the incumbent Amit Shah joined the Union Cabinet.He will in all probability succeed Shah in December.

Plight of Patients

I'm in Chandigarh... enjoying a Coffee at a Cafe in 'the happening' Sector 11 Market which is the finishing point of the infamous Ghedi route. At a nearby Table is a Doctor... recognized by his Coat and stethoscope peeping out of a pocket. He strikes a conversation with me ..

Doctor: This feels so surreal.... at this time I'm swamped with Patients... and here I am  sipping Coffee....

Me: Doctor playing hookey.... ghor kalyug...

D: No ....no ...not hookey... Junior Doctors on strike ... Emergency working ... but OPDs shut....so here I am .... if there is a call from the Emergency I'll rush back...PGI is just a stone throw away....

M: PGI caters to J&K... Punjab  ... Haryana... Chandigarh... I hear it takes months to get an appointment from a Specialist..  imagine the plight of patients .... indefinite strike means.... if they've come from far they can't go back.... I'm sure the 'heartless PGI clerical assistance  staff' would be answering their queries 'without an iota of assistance'....I had once taken an accident victim there and have borne them...

D: I understand .... but there's nothing I can do.... yes the minute the strike lifts I will do my best to clear the backlog.....but see the callousness of Netas... I am a Doctor Professor in PGI...some of my Students are now in Kolkata and I'm in touch with them via SM... and they say Politicians to blame.... primarily Mamtha... secondarily Centre...

M: Why blame Centre..

D: Mamtha they blame because its her appeasement politics that's caused this problem....her inability to perceive the ramifications... and make amends to bring matters under control....her appeasement mindset stops her from making amends...

M: Yes ...like I hear she said... BJP has asked Doctors not to treat Muslim patients... I simply can't believe that a CM can make such lose remarks...maybe some TMC MLA must have made this callous comment and it's being ascribed to her...

D: My Students say whenever matters  get out of control she blames Outsiders...  yes technically most of the Junior Doctors are Outsiders...she says such stupid things and her Followers take it literally... my Students tell me TMC goons threatened them that they would ensure that striking Doctors would be harmed and thrown out if they did not resume work.....its mayhem....and the strike is spreading..... lacs of patients suffering.... for what.... Mamtha's appeasement politics...a fair minded Political would have apologized and ordered stringent action against those who rioted and beat up Doctors...

M: But why are you blaming Centre...

D: In my perception it seems the Central Government has no answers to Mamtha and her followers wrath...due to politics they are dithering from taking strong action as a street fighter like Mamtha would only capitalize on any strong action... like if President's Rule is promulgated... Mamtha would be at her best....shift to a temporary stage on a busy Kolkata Road..and orchestrate protests from there.... she's a Master at this... in fact I feel she's itching for Centre taking stringent action..

M: Yes ...come to think of it ... the chaos she's  created there merits some action like this.... people decipher CM in her case a Chaos Minister..

D: She really controls Kolkata... my Students tell me even to get rental accommodation there you have to go through something known as a Syndicate...which they say is loyal to TMC....if they get a referral from the Syndicate its like a Furmaan for them..

M: I can imagine the  plight of Patients in PGI.. in this heat having to wait for this indefinite strike to get over....thank God some kindly souls run Langars that feed people...

D: Feel guilty  sipping my Coffee... but what can I do!!

M: Wish our brains were wired like the Japanese... going on strike... meant working  extra in protest...

M: But if brains here were wired like Japanese such situations  would not arise... imagine... what if our brains wired like Japanese... but those who become Netas have desi wired brains.... we'd die working  in protest...

The Doctor gets a call drom the Emergency... leaves his unfinished sandwich and Coffee and runs....
