Will Rahul's step affect other family parties ?

Now that the oldest political party Congress has become Vanshvad and Pariwarvad mukt. Will many regional parties like BSP, NCP, SP, DMK, TDP, TMC RLD, LD, TRS, RJD and JDs follow Rahul Gandhi's step? Because these are purely family parties. If don't, will these parties survive ?

Imaginary Interview with RaGa

By the wonder of imagination I'm present as RaGa dictates his Resignation Letter from his Mobile.

Me: Why didn't you dictate the Letter in your Office.... why Parliament...
RaGa: Was busy...
M: Achchaa...you want to give the message that you wrote this Letter... so as you exit LS you will give copies of the Letter to waiting Journos...and your Friendly Media will say you wrote the Letter in Parliament ...
R: I'm very busy .... in 2 days I'm flying out...
M: Perception is you can't even pen a two line condolence message  without help....I've heard the dictation...some Questions.... you need to be prepared for dissection of your letter....
R: Chalo ask.... but I don't have to respond..
M: The letter clearly indicates your lack of faith in the election process...you say ....Congress didn’t fight against the BJP but against the "entire machinery of the Indian state"...what about  the  Elections Opposition has won...did  ' the machinery help Congress to win'!!
R: It's my perception...
M: Then after you say... you fought against the Prime Minister, the RSS and the Institutions "they have captured" you say..... "At times, I stood completely alone and am extremely proud of it." Senior Leaders Chaperoned you everywhere... they remained in the background and let you hog the limelight.... they advised you and let you do the talking...
bore your tantrums ......mood swings..... how do you say you fought alone....
R: I felt let down...they did not take up Rafalle and Chowkidar Chor forcefully..
M: Maybe as they are more connected than you with the Voter... they felt other issues would get votes than these two chants of yours...
R: I was the Boss...they should have followed  me..
M: They must be feeling if they had followed you Congress would have ended up with 30 seats... on your "Institutions they have captured".....so if you don't get a favourable result all are complicit in your defeat.... 70 years of Congress....your Party nurtured Officials... Cops....you think Modi was not informed who Congress's 'blue eyed' lot were.... but when he took over he did not go in for mass  transfers of Officials and Cops... which clearly shows he had no intention  of 'capturing' Institutions....
R: I feel it was a unfair match.....Congress versus BJP + Umpires...
M: You talking like Pakis do after losing a match...then in the letter you leave a door open to return....."I am available to the party whenever they require my services, input or advice"..... the perception is you are exiting during a tumultuous time hoping to return later if and when there is a change in fortunes....
R: But Congress is a sochch and this sochch is in my dill... my blood...
M :  Reserve the right to return makes the resignation  into a 'face saving joke'... some say you want to wait out the upcoming State Elections as you don't want more losses to your 'discredit'...and in the end you show your resignation as a sacrifice...."It is a habit in India that the powerful cling to power".... every non Gandhi President be it National or State has offered to resign after an election drubbing... so what's so earth breaking or sacrificial in your resignation..
R: Many Congis told me this after I had offered to resign...
M: This is exactly the problem.... you believe Chamchas....only .. only ...if you could get their true opinions and not their buttered opinions..most would say..... high time he resigned!!
R:  Puzzled....
M: Sit down and contemplate..... would you like to go down in History as Congress's Bahadur Shah Zafar or the one who set Congress free to try to save Congress.....you could even do a reverse of Ronald Reagan... and join Bollywood... maybe your 'clean chocolaty  dimpled' looks which failed you in Politics could
make you a bigger success than Big B....
R: Have to go.... Ciao....Buonasera!!!

DEBATE

Is India inching towards Presidential form of Government ?

Whispersinthecorridors has this indication from top bureaucratic circles that there is an apprehension of Presidential form of Government in the country. The logic behind such a thinking is – introduction of lateral entry System in bureaucracy (American system), appointment of IAS, IFS and Army officers as Ministers, selection of top brains in different sectors, portfolio allocation to Dr. S Jaishankar and Hardeep Puri, plan to import a third of Deputy Secretaries from private sector, efforts to have ‘one nation, one election’, strong PMO and last but not the least appointment of Amit Shah as Home Minister.

Grapevine has it that once the BJP gets majority in Rajya Sabha next year, Presidential form of Government will become a reality but will it be viable ?
