This is History (1069)
People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives.

Political watchers say that after Chandra Babu Naidu and Mamta Banerjee, it’s going to be turn of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah duo will see to it that ‘Aap Government’ doesn’t return to power in Delhi.

Political Derby
At a Iconic Cafe in CP... sharing the Table with a Gentleman ... we introduce ourselves... he is Head Honcho of a Software Company. We get chatting..
Honcho: Super Rich suffering from 'Surcharge Pain'..they are calling this Budget..... the Robin Hood Budget...they feel Government is taking from them and giving to the poor!!
Me: Cry babies.... I think Surcharge was needed.... Indirect Taxes.... do the poor cry that they have to pay the same GST like Super Rich....Wealth Tax was abolished in 2015 and the Revenue Gap had to be filled....every FM tries to protect Revenue..
H: I note even the ardent Super Rich supporters of BJP are cribbing..
M: Selfish lot... it's the Middle Class which is selfless... post 2014 they kept asking for tax breaks but despite not getting what they were asking for they stood rock solid with BJP...and do the Super Rich think the Surcharge collected from them will run all the Pro Poor Schemes of this Government! This is just a Revenue protection step...
H: I was going through the Budget... and all these Judgments in TV Debates after the Budget Presentation are baloney.... their Grading is like a Teacher giving Grades based on just the turnout of the Student..not his/her answers...
H: I'm sure they are oblivious of so many Budget Proposals... Increasing Free float for MSCI upgrade...
Swapping Domestic Debt with External One...
Strategic Disinvestment or Privatisation...
Private funding in Infra spending...
M: A Builder was telling me...Model Tenancy Law will be game changer for the Builders/Investors who are saddled with unsold inventories ... they will be able to lease the unsold Flats, earning some returns from their dead investments. This will help them to service Bank loans which are on verge of being declared as NPA...
H: Additional deduction up to Rs1.5 lakhs for interest paid on loans borrowed for purchase of house valued up to Rs 45 lakh (comprising 60% of unsold inventory) enabling a net saving Rs 7 lakh to the Home Buyer. Will reduce unsold inventory and free up the financial resources in the system...
M: And I note with great disappointment that just based on these shallow Debates even Modi went defensive on the Budget.....
H: But he coined an apt terminology... Professional Pessimists....though I'd add... Paid Professional Pessimism...
M: PC called the Budget ... Insipid... and said if Congress came to power he'd present the Budget on an I Pad..
H: Insipid... that's the taste in his mouth nowadays....the Grapes were sour in 2014... and now tasteless...and from what I hear if Congress ever came to power RaGa would do his best to keep PC away from the Cabinet... PC's 'give Karti a Ticket or....' tantrum has irked RaGa..
M: Karnataka nataka...
H: The ingredients this time are.... Kumarswamy's inabilities.... RaGa's inaccessibility... and an ex Congress CMs revenge cum ambitions ...
M: Karnataka MLAs...Vote maangh ke aaye theh paanch saal ke liye.... 2 beeth gaye Resort aur Hotel lock up mein... baaki theen katt jaaye ge Horse Trading mein..
We have a good laugh ... pay the Tabs and go our ways...

Is India inching towards Presidential form of Government ?

Whispersinthecorridors has this indication from top bureaucratic circles that there is an apprehension of Presidential form of Government in the country. The logic behind such a thinking is – introduction of lateral entry System in bureaucracy (American system), appointment of IAS, IFS and Army officers as Ministers, selection of top brains in different sectors, portfolio allocation to Dr. S Jaishankar and Hardeep Puri, plan to import a third of Deputy Secretaries from private sector, efforts to have ‘one nation, one election’, strong PMO and last but not the least appointment of Amit Shah as Home Minister.
Grapevine has it that once the BJP gets majority in Rajya Sabha next year, Presidential form of Government will become a reality but will it be viable ?
