Cops vs Media ..

I'm in Chandigarh and I take out time to meet my Friend,  a retired Senior Cop. We meet at a Coffee Shop just opposite my Hotel. Over ....grilled sandwiches and coffees we get chatting.

Me: Chandigarh is in the News on this Kundu matter..

Cop Friend: Media chaahe toh cheenti ko haathi banaathi hai aur na chaaahe toh haathi ko cheenti!

M: I hear in Chandigarh both Politicians and Bureaucrats kids have a history of trouble making..

CF: Aho ji (Yes).. Piyo (Dad) di power goes to their heads...but also keep in mind ... Chandigarh has a huge influx of students..mock students and job seekers from Haryana ..Punjab and HP... now from where these youngsters come from its a very conservative environment...in Newbie Metro Chandigarh they come with a wrong notion that a girl who drinks ...smokes .. is game for everything...sheer idiocy ....

M: So what are you saying ..

CF: Attitude...power .... idle income...wrong Company . ....are the issues!! Really Media is hyping this issue ....maybe because a BJP Leader's son is involved ...let me be Ravan's Advocate.

M: Okay....we have a biased anti establishment Media  (Lootens) and a anti establishment Media..recently a girl was heniously killed but Media just have a cursory mention ...hear the cameras have captured some evidence...

CF: Yes dekhaya (saw)... on a linear road two cars going at high speed . .they don't show any car registration numbers or faces..no zig-zag roads which can show stalking ..there is news of the Medical Tests of the Boys being done ...no News about any tests on the Girl.....she is saying they tried to abduct her ....arre in my career I handled so many such cases where girl alleges Boy tried to abduct her and in the end it turned out to be something else ... and stalking is not abduction....

M: On SM read she's a Black Belt ....so she was 'in her own safe hands'...

CF:When Media gets after a case they want ...chatt (faste)

investigation and patt (on the spot) jailing..... of course the one they

portray as the culprit .... arre let the Cops do their job...give time for them to collect evidence ....Mobile Records... Tower positions ..check for witnesses and CCTV ..both Government and Private ...Detective work..

M: Yup our Media in certain cases they are interested in want pacca-pakaaya  ( Instant) justice .. arre yeh Maggie nahi hai...do you guys face pressure....

CF: Of course we do...but I have seen Oopar Waala has His ways of making Justice prevail. .take Jessica's case ...its my experience somehow despite all cover-up truth pops up ...of course I don't deny sometimes power and money work....but such people ultimately pay the price...Fate...

M: What's your gut feeling about this case ..

CF: Ohee gall (same talk)...arre gut is linked to brain...if brain is biased it'll overrule the gut feeling... wait ..let the evidence be revealed...yes then to a certain extent I can predict if evidence is strong or weak and will it stand in Court ...

M: But tell me such pressure from the Media.....can it affect your judgement....

CF: Arre...  you and your Woti (wife) eating a meal at a friend's place .....friend's wife asks ...how is the food....you like the food but before you say anything your Woti starts making faces ...and kicking you under the table ....can you be objective ... sochco!!

M: So Media is like Cops ki Woti....

CF: Nags ....tries to nfluence .... threatens ..throws tantrums... like one ...
