PM to have full control in TamilNadu during President’s rule ?

In the event of Governor's rule in TamilNadu, political observers believe that PM Narendra Modi would have upper hand in the state. During President’s rule Dr. T V Somanathan would become Advisor to Governor. He may prefer S Krishnan IAS (TN 1989) to be the State Chief Secretary.

 

 

 

 

Minister pledges to weed out deadwoods from NHAI

Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has publicly underlined the needs for weeding out deadwoods from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The Minister expressed displeasure over an inordinate delay in an NHAI building project at the cost of Rs 250, initiated in 2011 and completed in 2020 escalating cost to the tune of Rs lakh crore. The Minister pledged to remove such officers from the organization sitting on papers and delaying projects. Not only this, the Minister also advised to publicize the photos of such insufficient and corrupt Chief General Managers and Managers.

While Dr. S Jaishankar and Hardip Singh Puri – both Rajya Sabha MPs - are retired IFS officers, R K Singh and Arjun Meghwal – both retired IAS officers are Lok Sabha MPs. Now the question that arises is  - who among them – former IFS officers or ex- IAS officers are more result oriented ?

Ministry of Personnel came into being in 1970 
 
Ministry of Personnel has been the brainchild of Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the then PM, who created the Ministry in question in 1970. Prior to that, there was nothing like Ministry of Personnel and the activities now being looked after by this Ministry used to be disposed off by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
