Modi cabinet expansion cum re-shuffle this month ?

Much awaited expansion cum reshuffle of the Modi cabinet is likely to take place this month.

 

 

 

 

Online news portals and content providers will be registered

The Government was of the view that there should be some kind of regulations on over the Top platforms. And on these lines the ministry of I&B has issued a notification on November 9, 2020 that online news portal and content providers will be under the Ministry. According to sources, the Government has taken such step after the SC's notice. Presently there is no law or autonomous body governing digital content.

 

WB: one minister likely to quit TMC ?

All is not well in  the Mamta Banerjee led TMC govt in West Bengal. As per reports reaching Delhi said that Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikary on Wednesday skipped the Cabinet meeting.  Education minister Partha Chatterjee, who is reportedly unwell, was  also absent from the cabinet  meeting. According to sources one minister is likely to say goodbye to TMC. Till then wait for that auspicious time.

In the Modi led NDA government, four bureaucrat turned politicians are Ministers. While Dr. S Jaishankar and Hardip Singh Puri – both Rajya Sabha MPs - are retired IFS officers, R K Singh and Arjun Meghwal – both retired IAS officers are Lok Sabha MPs. Now the question that arises is  - who among them – former IFS officers or ex- IAS officers are more result oriented ?

Ministry of Personnel came into being in 1970 
 
Ministry of Personnel has been the brainchild of Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the then PM, who created the Ministry in question in 1970. Prior to that, there was nothing like Ministry of Personnel and the activities now being looked after by this Ministry used to be disposed off by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
