BJP has an upper hand in GHMC polls !
Even as the Bookies give hairline edge to TRS over BJP in photo-finish in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, political pundits say that the later has an upper hand given the fact that it (BJP) has been consistently improving its tally in Telangana. Congress out of contest in GHMC elections?
The Congress appears to be out of contest with the BJP emerging as challenger to TRS and AIMIM in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. Infact, it has been on constant decline in the state, as also elsewhere, after 2018 assembly polls when in alliance with the TDP, it won 19 seats garnering 28.43 per cent vote share but in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it fell behind the BJP winning only three seats despite 29.48 per cent vote share. BJP had bagged four Lok Sabha seats in 2019 in Telangana. In GHMC polls too, it could win only in two wards in 2016 as against in 52 wards in 2009.

With the Congress at its NADIR mainly due to Rahul Gandhi’s ineptness (something which even international leaders like Barack Obama think) and Sonia Gandhi willing to be relieved of the burden while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is yet to pick up the nitty-gritty of ‘politics in India’, who is the able and acceptable face to lead Congress Party minus Gandhi family?
