The government is yet to announce the new Chief of an agency but one IPS officer in the Capital is being greeted warmly by many. No prizes for guessing his name.

Former Health Secretary accused of misusing position !

The Andhra Pradesh government  has issued an order asking former Union Health Secretary Ms. Preeti Sudan to explain why disciplinary proceedings should not be initiated against her for misusing her position. Though the 1983 batch IAS officer  has retired from service, the AP Government  has issued this order.

DEBATE : “BABU WORD”

The term ‘babu’ that reeks of the colonial era has been stuck with civil servants and other government officials ever since.

On February 10, PM Narendra Modi has in his Parliament speech, blasted the ‘babu’ culture in the country saying “Sab kuch babu hi karenge”. Earlier in 2016, the IAS Association has condemned the use of the word ‘babu’ and called it ‘abusive’.

Now the question that arises is - Is the use of the word ‘babu’ correct ?
