Close confidants of Mamta to be out after polls announcement?

Close confidants IAS and IPS officers of Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, are expected to be shunted out soon after the announcement of Assembly Elections in the State. 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Chandramouli appointed Advisor to LG, Puducherry

Dr. C Chandramouli, former DoPT Secretary, has been appointed Adviser to Lieutenant Governor (LG), Puducherry. He is a 1985 batch retired IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

 

 

 

 

Dr. A P Maheshwari appointed Advisor to LG, Puducherry

Dr. A P Maheshwari, DG, CRPF, has been appointed Advisor to Lieutenant Governor (LG), Puducherry upon his superannuation on February 28, 2021.  He is a 1984 batch IPS officer of UP cadre.

 

 

 

Three Bureaucrats to be Observers for WB Polls

Three bureaucrats:  Former 1981 batch IAS officer of AP cadre  Ajay Nayak, Mrinal Kanti Das and Vivek Dubey have been appointed Observers for West Bengal Assembly Elections. 

 

 

 

 

 


DEBATE : “BABU WORD”

The term ‘babu’ that reeks of the colonial era has been stuck with civil servants and other government officials ever since.

On February 10, PM Narendra Modi has in his Parliament speech, blasted the ‘babu’ culture in the country saying “Sab kuch babu hi karenge”. Earlier in 2016, the IAS Association has condemned the use of the word ‘babu’ and called it ‘abusive’.

Now the question that arises is - Is the use of the word ‘babu’ correct ?
