The present crisis of credibility faced by the Mumbai Police over its former CP levelling corruption charges on the Home Minister and its handling of the Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiran murder case has once again brought to the fore patronage of corrupt police officials by the politicians for their vested interests. This has also raised a question mark over ‘police professionalism’.
